Vulture Festival LA
In November 2017, New York Magazine and Vulture expanded the Vulture Festival franchise to the Los Angeles market for the first time.
Headquartered at the iconic Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel in West Hollywood, the festival played host to 36 events over 2 days, once again bringing to life the witty, in depth editorial coverage found on Vulture.com.
The weekend was kicked off with an exclusive Opening Night Party, hosted on the rooftop of The Hollywood Roosevelt, featuring music by Ali Shaheed Muhammed of A Tribe Called Quest - guests included editorial guests, industry executives, TV & film talent, and press.
Festival events hosted TV, Film, Music, and Comedy talent for intimate interviews, lively panels, exclusive first-look screenings, stand-up comedy, and even a scavenger hunt throughout West Hollywood where cast members were planted along a route to greet festival guests as they followed the clues.
Events featured talent including: Kerry Washington and the cast of Scandal, an exclusive screening of Disney/Pixar’s Coco, a Scavenger Hunt around Hollywood with the cast of Search Party including Alia Shawkat, John Reynolds, Meredith Hagner, and John Early, Sofia Coppola, the cast and creators of Stranger Things, Robert Pattinson, Erika Jayne, Damon Lindelof and Mike Schur, James Franco, Dave Franco, Issa Rae, Common, Lena Waithe, Guillermo Del Toro, Zach Galifianakis, Jason Schwartzman, Ted Danson, and Jonathan Ames in a Bored to Death Reunion, Ava DuVernay and Ryan Coogler, the cast of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Daniel Levy and the cast of Schitt’s Creek, Owen Wilson, Ed Harris, Sarah Silverman, Natalie Portman, Paul Feig, Tig Notaro, and more.
Over 8,000 guests attended the festival over the course of the weekend. Following each event hosted at the festival headquarters of The Hollywood Roosevelt, guests were invited to enjoy complimentary drinks in the Vulture Lounge - a lounge space situated poolside at the famous Tropicana Lounge of The Hollywood Roosevelt, featuring branded bars, sponsor activations throughout the Garden and Pool areas, as well as within the famed Marilyn Monroe Suite, photo booths, branded gaming areas, a dedicated Sponsor Lounge Suite, a bar/lounge for talent meet-and-greets, and live DJ sets throughout the weekend.
The festival generated over 2.6 Billion press impressions, surpassing it's New York festival counterpart already in it's first year in LA.
